Deirdre Glenfield
Having spent nearly 20 years living and developing her art practice in Loughshinny in north County Dublin, Deirdre has recently relocated back to County Wexford near to where she grew up. Having always lived and painted near the sea, she is drawn to creating expressive artworks that reflect her connection with the coast and it's surrounding landscape. She works primarily with oil paints, taking inspiration from nature around her and in particular the rugged, wild landscape of the Hook peninsula. Plein air painting has always been a part of her painting practice, as is still life painting, and she embraces the journey that these diverse creative processes take her on.

Deirdre has a degree in Visual Arts Practices from the Institute of Art, Design & Technology, Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin.
She worked as an arts facilitator at the National Centre for Arts & Health at Tallaght Hospital for some years before devoting her time to her own painting practice. She continues to be an active member of the Boat House Painters group in north County Dublin, with whom she exhibits her work on a regular basis.
